A Delegation Led by the Secretary of Asia Masters Athletics Association Came to Rugao to Debrief Preparations for the 20th Asia Masters Athletics Championships
In the a.m. of 24th, a delegation led by S.SIVAPRAGASAM (Secretary of Asia Masters Athletics Association) came to Rugao to debrief preparations for the 20th Asia Masters Athletics Championships (2017), together with Wang Dawei, Deputy Director of the State Sports General Administration Athletics Administrative Center. Participants of this debriefing also included Li Xiuhua (Director of the Competition Center under the Provincial Sports Bureau), Jiang Haiquan (Deputy Director General of Nantong Municipal Sports Bureau), Zhang Yaluan (Deputy Mayor of Rugao), Gong Weidong (Deputy Director of the Municipal Government Office), Chen Rengao (Director General of Municipal Sports Bureau), etc.
Relevant preparations have been timely carried out according to the suggestions put forward by leaders and experts after two briefings previously. This briefing was mainly carried out in eight aspects, namely: 1. registration of athletes in the 20th Asia Masters Athletics Championships; 2. preparations for field and equipment in the 20th Asia Masters Athletics Championships; 3. reception of athletes in the 20th Asia Masters Athletics Championships; 4. arrangement for meetings in the 20th Asia Masters Athletics Championships; 5. distributions of referees, athletes, volunteers and medical security areas; 6. preparations for the podiums, awarding schemes and formulation of various emblems and certificates; 7. scheme for the opening ceremony of the 20th Asia Masters Athletics Championships; 8. scheme for the welcome reception of the 20th Asia Masters Athletics Championships; 9. scheme for the decoration surrounding sports field, which show distinctive elements of Rugao.
It's reported that, by June 24, the enrollment has covered a total of 1957 athletes from 14 countries and regions in 26 Affiliates. Since the senior was not familiar to online registration and ignorant of specific operations, at the later stage of registration, we've initiatively accepted manual registrations of athletes from some countries, while more than 800 athletes have successfully registered in the competition at present.
After debriefing preparations made by our municipal staff, Mr. S. SIVAPRAGASAM (Secretary of Asia Masters Athletics Association) expressed his satisfaction with various preparations in Rugao, which have been the most complete and humanized in aspects of the field, equipment, personnel and reception. He had great confidence in Rugao and in China.
The next step is to mainly focus on the transfer and assembled training of referees in the competition, pre-job training of volunteers, operational testing of relevant electronic timing & scoring systems, customization of special equipment, and market development & operation.
