“Ama Day” THAILAND
Thailand proudly hosted “AMA Day” on July 6, 2025, showcasing our commitment to spreading the Asia Masters Athletics vision throughout Southern Thailand's communities.
Strong Leadership Partnership
Mr. Viwat Vikranantnoros, AMA President, led the opening ceremony alongside local leaders including Mr. Jetsakul Petchasakul, Hat Yai Deputy Mayor, Asistant. Prof. Permsak Suriyachan Thai Veteran Athletics Association President, and Police Colonel Saiwai Pichayaporn, Event Chairman.
Building Healthy Communities
Our AMA Day goal was simple but powerful. We would like to inspire elderly people and senior groups across Southern Thailand to embrace exercise and sports as a way of life. We wanted to share proper knowledge about physical activities that promote health and wellness, creating lasting positive changes in how communities approach healthy aging.
Working Together for Better Health
This event brought together an impressive coalition: the Health Promotion Foundation, Southern Health Networks, Asia Masters Athletics, Thai Veteran Athletics Association, Hat Yai Municipality, government agencies, private companies, and health-minded citizens - all united for community wellness.
Amazing Community Response
Over 600 people joined us for walking and running activities at Hat Yai Municipal Public Park! The day was packed with engaging activities:
Fitness assessments by Sports Authority of Thailand experts
Energetic youth dance performances from Wat Kuan Niang School students
“Aura Line Dance” sessions with Hat Yai community groups
Fun “Vibrant Seniors” rhythm activities from Na Thawi District
Informative health seminars focused on elderly care
Creating Lasting Change
The overwhelming positive response from health network leaders shows this initiative is making a real difference. We're building something sustainable that can grow and inspire similar programs across the AMA community.
This successful event at Hat Yai Municipal Public Park demonstrates Thailand's leadership in bringing AMA values directly to our communities, proving that healthy aging through athletics isn't just a goal - it's an achievable reality when we work together.
